Scope of Work:
Asbestos Abatement, Structural Demolition, Smokestack Demolition, Erosion Control, Earthwork, Site Preparation
This project is a prime example of our turnkey site recovery capabilities. The project included:
The removal of 200,000 SF of asbestos transite roofing and the removal of several thousand lineal feet of asbestos thermal insulation in a bank of ovens. Collection and proper disposal of zinc dust throughout the entire facility. Installation & maintenance of erosion control measures were utilized to insure that all run-off from the site was captured in on-site pits and then sent to the on-site water treatment plant for subsequent purification. Cleaning & backfilling of pits and basements with granular material. Complete demolition of 330,000 SF tube mill complex & processing of all recyclable metals. Also demolished were a large smokestack directly adjacent to an active RR spur, a large electrical substation, and a covered service bridge across a busy local thoroughfare. Cleaning of over 50,000 SF of pits/trenches. Work included the removal of all oils, sludges, grit & scale.
All waste was properly containerized or pumped to an on-site waste treatment plant. Grading, excavation, loading & disposal of 20,000 CY sulfuric acid contaminated soil in the former galvanizing area. This included backfill with specific granular materials to remediate resultant voids. Concrete cap of all excavation and pits. Preparation/controlled felling of a 175’ steel/brick-lined smokestack directly adjacent to an active electrical substation, an active railroad spur and a covered service bridge over a busy thoroughfare.
