Grant Medical Trauma Center- Baldwin Tower

Explosive Demolition, Selective Demolition, Sitework/Excavation, Earth Retention System

Project Detail:

Building implosion of a 16-story reinforced concrete tower hospital building in a congested downtown area located within an occupied medical hospital complex.  Significant coordination and protection were necessary prior to and on blast day. Numerous meetings and negotiations were held to ensure that all parties were on board and prepared. In the end all the advance efforts proved fruitful when the implosion went off as planned.

This project included an extensive earth retention system & excavation for a multi- story surgery tower.  Protection and re-support of utilities was included so the Level 1 Trauma Center operations were not disturbed.  Selective demolition performed to prepare for implosion of the tower building.
