University of Cincinnati ‘A’ Pavilion Demolition

Project Detail:

Another excellent example of difficult, time sensitive demolition work performed by O’Rourke within an active medical campus, this project entailed demolition of ‘A’ Pavilion – a four (4) story, 45,000 SF former medical office located within the heat of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

‘A’ Pavilion was demolished to make way for a $30 Million expansion to the region’s only Level One Trauma Center.  Demolition work was performed utilizing a combination of conventional mass and surgical floor by floor demolition techniques as to not disrupt directly adjacent pedestrian / utility corridors and facility operations.

In addition, demolition work was planned, coordinated and field executed as not disrupt the directly adjacent 24 hour, 7 days a week Emergency Room Facility and associated Air Care service.
