University of Cincinnati Wilson Hall Demolition
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Scope of Work:
Asbestos Abatement, Structural Demolition, Historical Salvage, Excavation, Recycling
Project Detail:
This turn-key site recovery project included asbestos abatement and mass demolition of Wilson Auditorium – a long underutilized, vacant structure located in the heart of the University of Cincinnati’s main Clifton Campus. O’Rourke Wrecking demolished and removed Wilson Auditorium to create construction staging / temporary classroom space to support a planned $45 Million renovation of the nearby Teachers College Complex. Of note, O’Rourke’s crew salvaged and returned (6) large decorative limestone carvings that adorned the exterior façade of the Auditorium. Following removals, the site was graded out and re-shaped to drain. Concrete was processed and recycled into ODOT 304 gradation.
