Project Detail:
Phased demolition of the former Cincinnati Red’s Baseball Stadium over a two-year period included removal of associated parking garages, pedestrian and vehicular bridges—including an Elevated bridge over a newly constructed, active highway.
Phase 1 – Parking Garage and Bridges were removed to allow construction to commence on the new Great American Ballpark
Phase 2 – “The Bite”, a 25% section of Cinergy Field was demolished
Phase 3 – Implosion of remaining Stadium
Phase 4 – Demolition of remaining Bridges and Parking Garage, cleanup of site O’Rourke Wrecking Company handled all interface with public agencies including FAA, U.S. Coast Guard, OH DOT, KY DOT), the utility companies, and the community.
Approximately 99% of the materials were recycled.
